WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump has launched a fundraising campaign to construct a new ballroom for the White House, with a target goal of $200 million.

The initiative seeks contributions from major corporations and affluent individuals to finance the project.

During a recent fundraising event, Trump presented a model of the proposed structure to business leaders and potential donors. The ballroom is designed to serve as a multipurpose venue for state functions, official gatherings, and large-scale events.

Renderings of the proposed ballroom indicate a design intended to complement the White House’s existing architecture while incorporating modern technology to support diverse functions. The structure would increase the building’s capacity to host major events and enhance its operational flexibility.

The administration stated that the fundraising effort aims to secure private-sector participation in government projects. The campaign follows previous initiatives that encouraged collaboration between public institutions and private donors.
