Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the White House for talks with U.S. President Donald Trump, seeking additional military assistance as Ukraine continues to face ongoing conflict with Russia, which began with the annexation of Crimea in 2014.

During the meeting, Zelenskyy directly appealed for enhanced military support to strengthen Ukraine’s defensive capabilities.

The country has long relied on international aid, particularly from the United States, including financial assistance and advanced weaponry, to counter Russian aggression.

The visit came shortly after Trump’s conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, raising attention on whether U.S.-Russia relations could influence the level of support extended to Ukraine.

While details of the Trump-Putin call remain largely undisclosed, analysts are monitoring its potential impact on U.S. foreign policy toward Eastern Europe.

The United States has consistently affirmed support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, providing military aid under previous administrations.
