MANILA, Philippines–Actor Tom Rodriguez publicly offered well wishes to his ex-wife, Carla Abellana, after news of her engagement surfaced.
Rodriguez confirmed that he was aware of Abellana’s engagement and emphasized that he did not hold any ill feelings toward her.
The actor stated that he believed Abellana deserved happiness and respected her decisions regarding relationships following their marriage, which began in 2021 and ended with their separation in 2022. He said he chose to respond positively to public inquiries out of respect for their past life together and to focus on her future well-being.
“I am happy for her, and I hope she remains content in this next chapter of her life,” Rodriguez said during the interview. He added that he intended to support her from a distance while concentrating on his own projects and personal growth.
Abellana confirmed her engagement through her social media accounts. As of press time, she has not publicly commented on Rodriguez’s remarks.
