Texas is experiencing a new wave of layoffs as Accelore Group, LLC, a logistics services company, prepares to cut jobs in response to the state’s economic slowdown.
Announced through reports under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, the company will lay off 107 employees each in Tarrant and Dallas Counties. The affected positions include delivery associates, dispatch managers, and other managerial roles at the Amazon Logistics sites in Fort Worth and Balch Springs, with delivery associates being the most impacted.
The layoffs are slated for November 1, adding to the recent job losses in Texas. Last week, a language interpretation services company reduced its workforce by 355 jobs due to a merger.
This spate of layoffs comes as the Federal Reserve lowers its benchmark interest rate to 4-4.25% amid concerns over the slowing labor market. Job growth in Texas has stagnated, with the state losing jobs for the first time in four years as unemployment rates rise, signaling possible recessionary pressures.
