Consul General Gunther Sales and Vice Consul Tanya Gaurano of the Philippine Consulate General in Houston visited Texas A&M University to explore potential partnerships in agricultural development.
Their visit focused on the university’s Department of Animal Science and the Norman Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture and Development.
During their visit, the officials engaged with faculty and administrators to learn about the university’s programs, research initiatives, and extension activities. The discussions centered on aligning these efforts with the Philippine government’s priorities of enhancing food security and improving education.
A highlight of the visit was a tour of the newly inaugurated Animal Reproductive Biotechnology Center, a state-of-the-art facility at Texas A&M University.
The center focuses on advancing reproductive technologies in livestock, aiming to improve animal breeding and productivity. The Philippine delegation explored opportunities for collaboration in capacity building, training, research, and extension services.
