Ted Cruz urges an end to DEI theories surrounding DC plane crash

HOUSTON, Texas– Texas Senator Ted Cruz has publicly criticized the application of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles in the investigation of a recent plane crash in Washington, D.C.

Cruz argued that DEI considerations could divert attention from the central issue of human error, which he believes is the primary cause of the crash.

The plane crash, which remains under investigation, has led to multiple inquiries by federal agencies responsible for aviation safety.

In his public comments, Cruz, a vocal critic of DEI policies, emphasized that human accountability should be the primary focus in such investigations.

“What we do know is that somebody screwed up,” Cruz said, underscoring the need to prioritize identifying mistakes over applying theoretical frameworks like DEI.

DEI proponents, however, defend the inclusion of these principles, arguing that they can offer diverse perspectives that may improve investigations and help address potential biases.

Supporters argue that incorporating DEI considerations can lead to more comprehensive and equitable outcomes.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which is leading the investigation, has not confirmed whether DEI theories are part of the investigative process.

The agency has stressed its commitment to a thorough and unbiased investigation, focused on evidence collection, data analysis, and interviews to determine the cause of the crash.

The NTSB declined to comment directly on Cruz’s statements but reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and objectivity.

As the investigation continues, updates are expected from the NTSB and other agencies involved.
