Taylor Swift donated more than P117 million to charity for Christmas as she gave P58.5 million each to two organizations, according to statements from the recipient groups that outlined how they would use the funds to support their programs.
Representatives of the first charity said Swift’s P58.5 million donation would help expand its ongoing projects that provide food assistance and basic necessities to communities during the holiday season.
Officials of the second charity confirmed that Swift transferred another P58.5 million to its accounts to support existing initiatives for underprivileged beneficiaries and to finance additional outreach activities.
Both organizations reported that they received the donations directly from Swift’s team and that they recorded the contributions as unrestricted funds that would allow them to allocate the money based on the most urgent needs in their respective service areas.
