Taiwan has expressed appreciation for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for his recent comments regarding the Taiwan Strait situation.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. stated that the Philippines cannot “stay on the sidelines” in the event of a conflict in the Taiwan Strait.

Marcos’s remarks prompted a reaction from China, which warned the President against “playing with fire.”

The statement from Taiwan came after China criticized President Marcos’s comments.

China’s warning followed President Marcos’s acknowledgment of the possible involvement of the Philippines in the Taiwan Strait issue.

The Philippines is a significant player in regional security matters involving Taiwan and China.

President Marcos’s statement has intensified discussions on the potential role of the Philippines in Southeast Asian geopolitics.

Taiwan’s expression of “deep respect” highlights the complex diplomatic relationships in the region.
