During a buy-bust operation in Lanao del Sur, a suspect was shot and injured as authorities seized P2.77 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth), according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

On Saturday, the PNP reported that their regional and provincial teams, alongside the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), targeted an unidentified suspect on Friday afternoon in Barangay Ampao, Bacolod-Kalawi town.

“The operation resulted in an armed confrontation, wounding the suspect,” the PNP stated.

The suspect was promptly taken to Amai Pakpak Medical Center for treatment before being transferred to the Bacolod-Kalawi Municipal Police Station with the confiscated items, the report added.

Authorities recovered 406.9 grams of suspected shabu, a 9mm pistol, 10 live rounds, and six spent cartridges.

The suspect faces charges under Republic Act 9165, the Dangerous Drugs Act.
