A nationwide survey by Pulse Asia released on Monday showed that 52 percent of Filipinos want Congress to immediately create a fully empowered Independent Commission Against Infrastructure Corruption (ICAIC) to address corruption in public works projects across the country.
Pulse Asia conducted the “Ulat ng Bayan” survey from Dec. 12 to 15, and asked respondents if they agreed that Congress should immediately pass a law establishing a fully empowered ICAIC.
The survey results indicated that just over half of respondents nationwide supported the immediate passage of a law creating the ICAIC, while the remaining respondents either did not agree, were undecided, or did not answer.
Pulse Asia used face-to-face interviews with adult respondents during the Dec. 12 to 15 survey period and applied its standard sampling methodology to represent voting-age Filipinos.
The survey measured public sentiment on the proposed ICAIC as an independent body mandated to investigate and address corruption in infrastructure projects funded by the government.
