Stephen Curry, the star guard for the Golden State Warriors, is now the highest-earning NBA player, according to a report by Sportico. The report, released Tuesday, cites Curry’s combined earnings from his basketball salary and off-court activities for the 2024-25 season. His estimated earnings total approximately $155.8 million.

Curry’s financial success places him ahead of other notable NBA figures, including Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James, who has been a consistent leader in total earnings for the past decade. James is projected to earn $133.7 million this year, which is lower than Curry’s expected income. This shift marks a change in the financial hierarchy of NBA superstars.

The report highlights two main sources of Curry’s income: his salary from playing basketball and his extensive collection of endorsement deals and business ventures. His on-court salary is reportedly set at $55.8 million. This figure reflects the high regard in which Curry’s playing skills and contribution to the team are held. Off the court, Curry is expected to earn an additional $100 million. This income is attributed to a variety of endorsements and personal business projects.

Curry’s endorsement portfolio includes partnerships with major brands like Under Armour, which has been a long-time collaborator. His influence in the sportswear market continues to be significant, with Under Armour releasing a variety of products under his name. Additionally, Curry has invested in several startups, enhancing his financial stability and future prospects.

LeBron James, although earning slightly less than Curry this year, remains a dominant financial force in the NBA. His income from endorsements is estimated to be $85 million, with his on-court salary contributing another $48.7 million. James’s earnings reflect his enduring marketability and influence both within and beyond basketball.

The financial success of Curry and James is indicative of the growing economic opportunities available to top athletes. Their ability to leverage their on-court accomplishments into substantial off-court earnings is a testament to their brand power and strategic business decisions.

Curry’s rise to the top of the earnings list also illustrates his continued impact on and off the court. As the all-time leader in three-pointers, Curry has transformed the way the game is played. His style of play has influenced a generation of players and continues to draw fans to the sport. Off the court, Curry’s ventures and endorsements have allowed him to reach a wide audience, further solidifying his status as a global icon.

Other notable NBA earners include Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is projected to earn a total of $97.6 million. His earnings also come from a combination of his basketball salary and lucrative endorsement deals. Kevin Durant and other NBA stars follow closely, each with their own significant earnings from the sport and related activities.
