A fire broke out early Wednesday at an unoccupied house on Gardina Street near West Avenue in Houston, Texas.
The San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD) responded at around 2:30 a.m. and found flames extending over the roof upon arrival.
Fire crews focused on preventing the blaze from spreading to nearby structures. Damage was concentrated on the side and rear portions of the home, including the garage area. Multiple water lines were used to suppress the fire. No injuries were reported.
Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire. Preliminary information points to possible activity from squatters inside the vacant property.
Officials noted that unoccupied homes are often entered without authorization and can pose safety risks.
