San Antonio Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama, 21, is set for a full NBA return after clearing a health setback involving deep vein thrombosis.

He enters his third season with a goal to help the Spurs secure at least the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference, which would eliminate the need for a play-in appearance.

Wembanyama stressed that a top-six finish is within reach through disciplined work and improved team cohesion. He voiced confidence in the group’s ability to compete at a playoff level.

The young star ended the previous season earlier than expected due to his medical condition and received clearance to compete in July. He used the offseason to train and sharpen his skills for a stronger campaign ahead.

A native of France, Wembanyama joined San Antonio as the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and entered the league with significant attention due to his height, versatility, and defensive presence. His return carries strong expectations from fans and teammates.

The Spurs continue to refine their roster and game plans before the season opener. Coaches expect Wembanyama’s presence to strengthen the team’s pursuit of a higher standing in the Western Conference.

During his recovery, the All-Star talent focused on conditioning and reassessing his approach to the sport. That process, according to team sources, helped him reset physically and mentally.

As the new season unfolds, Spurs supporters and league observers are watching how Wembanyama’s return will influence the team’s progress. His mindset emphasizes maturity, collective effort, and resilience — themes that shape the Spurs’ outlook for the year ahead.
