The San Antonio Spurs have reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Trey Murphy III from the New Orleans Pelicans.

Despite the Spurs’ interest, New Orleans has declined to entertain trade discussions regarding Murphy. There are no indications that the Pelicans intend to part ways with the forward at this time. This development adds a new dimension to the Spurs’ off-season activities as they look to strengthen their roster for the upcoming NBA season.

Reports surfaced that both the San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors have shown trade interest in Trey Murphy III. The Pelicans, however, appear firm in their decision to retain Murphy, who remains a valuable asset for the team. The Warriors and Spurs are seeking to add depth to their wing positions, but New Orleans is reportedly not open to trade negotiations for Murphy.

Murphy, who plays as a forward for the Pelicans, has drawn attention from several teams in the league. His potential move to another team has been a topic of speculation despite the Pelicans’ stance. The Pelicans’ reluctance to trade Murphy suggests their intent to keep him as part of their long-term plans.

Meanwhile, the Austin Spurs, an affiliate of the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs, have completed a trade with the Iowa Wolves. The Austin Spurs acquired the 13th overall pick in the 2025 NBA G League Draft from the Iowa Wolves. In exchange, the Iowa Wolves received the returning player rights to Luke Avdalovic and Justin Smith. The trade also involved the exchange of future draft picks.

The trade agreement between the Austin Spurs and the Iowa Wolves marks a significant move in the G League, as both teams aim to solidify their rosters for future competitions. Acquiring a high draft pick positions the Austin Spurs favorably for upcoming seasons, allowing them to potentially add emerging talent to their squad.
