Rap legend Snoop Dogg joins Swansea City ownership

Snoop Dogg has become a co-owner and investor of Swansea City, a Welsh soccer club, according to an announcement by Swansea City on Thursday.

The artist joins the club’s ownership group alongside Croatian football star Luka Modrić. Snoop Dogg, whose influence spans both music and sports, shared his enthusiasm for becoming part of Swansea City, aligning with its story and identity.

The club’s chief executive, Tom Gorringe, welcomed Snoop Dogg’s involvement, stating it is exciting for the football team.

Snoop Dogg’s career in music includes selling 35 million albums and earning 17 Grammy nominations. The club unveiled a mural of Snoop Dogg at their stadium to celebrate his new role as a co-owner.

This move positions Swansea City among several English Football League clubs attracting American celebrity investors. Snoop Dogg’s participation is part of a trend that sees celebrities like LeBron James and Tom Brady engage in international soccer investments.
