MANILA, Philippines– Actress Sharon Cuneta and columnist Cristy Fermin formally settled a cyber libel case on Tuesday in Manila, according to legal representatives familiar with the proceedings.
Cuneta filed the case after Fermin allegedly made defamatory statements on a public platform. The case was resolved through a private agreement. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
Cuneta, a veteran actress and singer, confirmed the settlement and said she felt at peace following the outcome. Fermin’s camp has not issued an official statement.
Court officials recorded the settlement, officially closing the case. No additional public comments were made by either party after the agreement.
