Williamson County, Texas, has issued a three-month burn ban due to severe drought conditions.

The Commissioners Court announced the decision to reduce wildfire risks as the region faces below-average rainfall.

The ban prohibits outdoor burning, including campfires and debris burning. Violators may face fines or legal action. Firefighters and emergency officials cite dry vegetation and weather as major concerns.

The Texas A&M Forest Service is helping monitor conditions. Local law enforcement will enforce the ban, and residents are urged to report illegal burning and conserve water.

Officials will adjust the ban if weather conditions improve. The county encourages the public to stay updated through official channels.
