MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) is closely monitoring an increase in cases where families are selling babies online due to financial hardship.

Authorities have reported that economic distress is driving some families to engage in this practice. The CHR is taking steps to address the issue and ensure the protection of children’s rights.

The CHR is working with relevant agencies to identify the root causes and find solutions. The commission has urged the public to report any such cases, and awareness campaigns are being considered to educate the community on the issue.

The CHR is also coordinating with law enforcement agencies and emphasizing the importance of child protection laws in preventing exploitation. Families involved in such cases are being investigated, and the commission is focusing on addressing the socio-economic factors contributing to the problem.

The CHR remains dedicated to safeguarding children’s welfare and preventing human rights violations.
