HOUSTON — The Texas Dow Employees Credit Union (TDECU) branch at the University of Houston student center was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon, marking the second incident at the location in less than three months.
University of Houston officials said the robbery occurred at approximately 4:08 p.m. at the Student Center South, 4455 University Dr. No injuries were reported.
The suspect was described as a Black man, about 6 feet tall with a slender build, wearing all black clothing, a black scarf covering his head, gray sports sandals, and carrying a black backpack with gray stripes and a black handgun. He was last seen running south toward the METRO platform at the intersection of MLK Boulevard and Wheeler Avenue.
The same TDECU branch was previously robbed at gunpoint in late October. In December, the FBI offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in that case. No arrests have been reported, and university officials have not confirmed whether the two incidents are connected.
