Arrest warrant for Sarah Discaya on the way, Marcos confirms

MANILA, Philippines– President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday, December 9, 2024, announced in Manila that an arrest warrant for controversial contractor Sarah Discaya will be issued this week as part of ongoing legal proceedings against her.

Marcos said authorities have completed the necessary steps for the warrant and that law enforcement agencies will implement it once the court releases the document.

He stated that the government coordinates with relevant agencies to ensure Discaya’s arrest takes place in accordance with legal and procedural requirements.

Officials did not immediately disclose the specific charges against Discaya or the court that will issue the warrant.

Authorities also did not provide details on Discaya’s current whereabouts or any prior attempts to locate or question her.

Marcos said the administration will pursue the case through the justice system and will allow judicial processes to determine Discaya’s legal accountability.
