MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte visited the Quezon City Jail on Tuesday, where she met with detained Sen. Rodante Dizon Marcoleta, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and former Rep. Michael Tan Defensor, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said Wednesday.

The BJMP said Duterte arrived at noon and stayed at the facility until 3:20 p.m.

During the visit, Duterte met with Marcoleta, Estrada and Defensor, who are all facing separate cases.

Marcoleta and Defensor were committed to the Quezon City Jail in July over plunder charges involving P75 million in donations that Marcoleta received in 2025 from Defensor and two businessmen.

Estrada was committed to the same jail in June over a separate plunder case linked to alleged irregularities in the government’s flood control projects.

The BJMP did not provide further details about Duterte’s meetings with the three detainees.
