A pedestrian was struck by a truck in San Antonio, marking another incident in the city’s growing concerns over traffic safety. The San Antonio Police Department reported that the incident occurred on a busy street, where the pedestrian attempted to cross when the truck had the right of way. Video surveillance from the scene captured the truck proceeding through a green light at the time of the collision, according to officials.

The incident unfolded during the evening rush hour, a time when the streets are typically bustling with both vehicles and pedestrians. The collision brought traffic to a standstill as emergency services arrived on the scene to assist the victim. The pedestrian was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. Authorities have not yet released information about the victim’s condition.

Witnesses at the scene recounted the events leading up to the accident, describing the truck moving at a steady pace through the intersection. Several onlookers expressed concern over pedestrian safety in the area, citing previous incidents that highlight the need for enhanced measures.

Safety has been a recurring topic of discussion among local officials and community members. The area has witnessed a series of incidents involving pedestrians in recent months, prompting calls for improved infrastructure and awareness campaigns. Residents have voiced concerns through community forums, urging city planners to consider additional crosswalks, traffic lights, and pedestrian signals to ensure the safety of those on foot.

The San Antonio Police Department is currently investigating the incident to determine if any traffic laws were violated. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and gathering witness testimonies to piece together the sequence of events. No charges have been filed at this time, pending the outcome of the investigation.

The truck driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, remained at the scene following the accident and cooperated with authorities. Police have not indicated whether impairment or distraction played a role in the crash, but routine procedures include conducting tests to rule out these possibilities.
