San Beda University defeated Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 83-71, on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City to sweep the best-of-three series and reclaim the NCAA Season 101 men’s basketball championship.

The Red Lions secured their second NCAA men’s basketball title in the last three seasons by winning Game 2 behind a team-high performance from Bryan Sajonia.

Sajonia registered 21 points and nine rebounds to lead San Beda’s offense and defense against its long-time rival Letran.

San Beda players and coaches celebrated on the court after the final buzzer as officials confirmed the series sweep and the school’s return to the top of the NCAA men’s basketball hierarchy.

League organizers awarded San Beda the championship trophy in a brief ceremony that followed the game at center court.
