SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The San Antonio Zoo has illuminated its parking garage each evening in a symbolic gesture of support for victims of the recent floods that devastated the region.

Zoo officials announced the lighting display as part of a broader effort to uplift the community amid widespread damage caused by severe flooding across Central Texas.

“The lighting is meant to remind the community that they are not alone,” zoo management said in a statement. “It reflects the resilience and strength of our neighbors who are facing this crisis.”

Officials said they hope the initiative will inspire other businesses and institutions to express similar acts of solidarity.

Residents and zoo visitors have responded positively to the gesture. Photos of the brightly lit garage have circulated on social media, drawing praise for the zoo’s commitment to community support.

In addition to the lighting display, the zoo continues its core mission of conservation and education, while also exploring ways to provide humanitarian support.

Zoo officials invited members of the public to suggest further ways to assist flood victims and to visit the zoo’s website for information on contributing to relief initiatives.

As cleanup and recovery continue, the San Antonio Zoo’s parking garage remains lit nightly, symbolizing the community’s strength and unity in the face of disaster.
