SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Philharmonic has canceled two concerts scheduled for February 13 and 14 as the organization continues to navigate a legal dispute with the Scottish Rite over payments tied to renovations of the historic venue.

Philharmonic Executive Director Roberto Treviño said the organization entered the current season with confidence after meeting its financial goals last year.

Treviño said the Philharmonic believed last season’s financial performance allowed it to plan an ambitious concert lineup for this year under similar financial obligations. He said the organization remains optimistic that recent setbacks are temporary.

The Philharmonic has canceled multiple concerts in recent months while the dispute remains unresolved.

Concerts scheduled for March and later remain on the calendar and are still planned to take place at the Scottish Rite. Treviño said the organization may consider alternative venues if scheduling conflicts or other issues arise.

He said the Philharmonic has previously relocated performances when necessary and will make venue decisions as circumstances develop.

The Philharmonic’s next scheduled performances are set for March 6 and 7.

The organization has not announced additional cancellations beyond February at this time.
