San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) has warned parents about a potential student protest on October 7 that may involve armed participants.

District officials said they have not identified any confirmed organizers but suspect that individuals posing as a student organization may be attempting to stage the event.

SAISD issued the warning through a letter sent to families, urging parents to advise their children against joining the protest. The district cited concerns over student and staff safety, noting that the event could disrupt normal school activities.

Officials said credible evidence suggests the protest could involve armed individuals. In response, the district sought assistance from the Southwest Texas Fusion Center, which coordinates intelligence sharing among local, state, and federal agencies. SAISD is also working with law enforcement to strengthen security on campuses.

School administrators are preparing additional safety measures to minimize disruption on the day of the planned protest. Staff and faculty have been instructed to remain alert and follow emergency procedures if necessary.

SAISD encouraged families to discuss the potential risks associated with the event and to discourage student participation.

SAISD reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of students and employees. Officials said they will continue coordinating with law enforcement and will communicate any new information to parents and the public.
