San Antonio International Airport evacuated Terminal B on Friday afternoon following a false alarm.

The evacuation, which occurred around 2:00 PM local time, caused temporary disruptions to flight schedules. Airport authorities have not provided specific details on the cause of the alarm.

The false alarm led to delays for several outbound flights and rerouted inbound flights to nearby airports.

A security sweep of the terminal was conducted, and no threats were found. Operations resumed once the area was cleared and deemed safe.

Maria Martinez, a spokesperson for the airport, confirmed the alarm was false in a later briefing. She reassured the public that Terminal B was secure and praised passengers for their cooperation during the evacuation.

However, Martinez did not disclose the cause of the alarm, noting only that the safety of passengers and staff was the primary concern.

Airport officials are investigating the cause of the false alarm, with an emphasis on determining whether it was caused by a technical malfunction or human error.

Efforts are also underway to review and improve emergency response protocols to prevent future incidents.

Officials have reassured the public that all measures are being taken to enhance security and communication during such events.

By Friday evening, normal flight operations had resumed, and passengers whose flights were delayed were gradually able to continue their travel.

The airport remains committed to ensuring the safety and efficiency of its operations.
