San Antonio International Airport officials on Monday urged holiday travelers in San Antonio to plan ahead and arrive early as U.S. airlines prepared for a record surge of more than 8 million domestic passengers during the peak travel period.
Airport managers said the advisory aims to help passengers avoid delays, missed flights, and congestion at terminals, parking facilities, and security checkpoints as travel demand increases nationwide.
Officials advised travelers to arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and at least three hours before international departures to allow time for check-in, baggage processing, and security screening.
The Transportation Security Administration reported that holiday passenger volumes across U.S. airports are on pace to exceed pre-pandemic records.
San Antonio International Airport officials said the airport remains fully operational and staffed throughout the holiday travel period and will continue to issue updates through its website, social media platforms, and local media outlets.
