Sam Milby admitted he was “a bit surprised” by Catriona Gray’s recent comments about their past relationship but emphasized he wants to keep the matter private.

Gray, Miss Universe 2018, revealed in an interview with Karen Davila that Milby wasn’t ready to commit, even after asking for her hand in marriage. She said she tried to adjust and give him time, but it ultimately didn’t work out.

Speaking to TV Patrol on February 16, Milby said, “My reaction is I just wanna keep sa’min ni Cat private, honestly. I just won’t have a comment. Was I surprised? Yeah, I was a bit surprised.”

Milby, who stars in The Alibi: Ang Buong Katotohanan, also faced a playful jab from Paulo Avelino during the show’s press conference, referencing an incident where Milby accidentally hurt Kim Chiu while filming.

The couple, who were initially set to marry in 2024, confirmed their breakup in February 2025. The teleserye adaptation of The Alibi: Ang Buong Katotohanan will premiere on free TV via Kapamilya Channel and A2Z this March, following its original release on Prime Video in November 2025.
