A 52-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas pleaded guilty to making threats against President Donald Trump.

Robert Herrera, was arrested after posting a threatening comment on a Facebook post from a local news outlet regarding Trump’s planned visit to the Texas Hill Country in July.

Federal authorities charged Herrera with making threats against the President of the United States, a violation of federal law that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

President Trump’s visit to the Texas Hill Country occurred in response to severe flooding in July 2023 that resulted in over 100 deaths and extensive property damage in areas including Kerrville.

During the visit, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump toured the affected areas and met with local officials, victims’ families, and first responders. Texas Governor Greg Abbott also joined the visit. The leaders focused on assessing damage, discussing aid distribution, and supporting ongoing recovery operations.
