MANILA, Philippines– Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla announced on Oct. 10, his plan to lift restrictions on public access to Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) of government officials.

The restrictions, imposed during former President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration under then-Ombudsman Samuel Martires, limited public scrutiny of officials’ wealth disclosures. Remulla said he will issue a memorandum on October 15 to officially restore access.

He noted that certain personal details may still be redacted to protect privacy but stressed that greater transparency is essential for public accountability.

Remulla also encouraged citizens to share information that could aid corruption investigations, emphasizing broader public participation in oversight efforts.
