MANILA, Philippines — Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla announced on Thursday that a new witness will be introduced in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of several cockfighting enthusiasts, locally known as sabungeros.

According to Remulla, the addition of the witness aims to provide further insights and potentially critical evidence in the high-profile case. The identity of the witness remains confidential for security reasons.

Authorities are actively working to ensure the safety of the witness. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is coordinating with law enforcement agencies to facilitate the individual’s testimony. Investigators believe the new testimony could play a key role in advancing the probe.

Remulla reiterated the DOJ’s commitment to locating the missing individuals and holding those responsible accountable.
