MANILA — Actor Raymart Santiago denied any involvement in the alleged kidnapping of his daughter Sabina, following comments from his estranged wife, Claudine Barretto, on social media.

Santiago’s lawyers issued a statement on Monday, January 26, in response to Barretto’s posts and previous interviews, which implied that Santiago may have been “in connivance” with Marisol Acap, Barretto’s former personal assistant, in an attempted kidnapping of their children.

“Our client, Rozelle Raymond Martin ‘Raymart’ Santiago, is not in any way or form involved in the kidnapping incident of his child with Ms. Barretto, if there is indeed any,” the statement read. The lawyers added that all allegations, past or recent, are false.

Santiago’s legal team also urged Barretto to avoid using her influence or media platforms to discredit individuals, and reminded the public to exercise caution when commenting on sensitive family matters.

Barretto shared a video call screenshot with her children—Sabrina, Quiah, and Noah—on Monday, captioning it “Safe and sound.” She has not publicly responded to Santiago’s statement.
