LONDON — Prince Andrew has moved from his residence at Royal Lodge in Windsor to a royal estate in eastern England, the BBC reported Tuesday, as scrutiny intensifies over his ties to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew, 65, left the property on Monday after living there for about two decades with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, according to the broadcaster. Buckingham Palace declined to confirm the report to Agence France-Presse.

The former royal is staying in a temporary home at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, the BBC reported. The Sun tabloid reported that he is expected to move into a permanent residence at Marsh Farm once renovations are completed.

Pressure on Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles III, increased after his name appeared in the U.S. Department of Justice’s latest release of documents related to Epstein. The cache, released Friday, reportedly includes photographs of the then-prince kneeling over a woman lying on the ground and emails inviting Epstein to Buckingham Palace for a private meeting.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the developments should prompt Andrew to testify before the U.S. Congress regarding his knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.

A second Epstein accuser, through her lawyer, alleged that the American financier sent her to Britain in 2010 to have sex with Andrew at Royal Lodge. Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

In 2022, Andrew paid a multimillion-pound settlement to another accuser, Virginia Giuffre, without admitting liability. Giuffre died by suicide last year.

Andrew stepped back from royal duties in 2019 following allegations connected to Epstein, who died by suicide in jail that same year while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges involving minors.
