MANILA, Philippines –The House of Representatives issued an order for the arrest of former Mandaluyong City police chief Colonel Hector Grijaldo for his repeated absence from a series of joint committee hearings.

Taguig Representative Amparo Zamora of the House initiated a motion to cite him in contempt after failing to attend hearings for the fourth consecutive time.

The issue came to a head after a medical evaluation by the Philippine National Police (PNP) declared Grijaldo fit to attend the hearings.

Despite the medical clearance, Grijaldo did not appear before the committee, leading to the contempt charge and subsequent arrest order.
