MANILA, Philippines — The Police Regional Office in Davao Region said Thursday that Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa’s lawyer has received the order revoking the senator’s firearms license and registrations.

In a statement, PRO 11 said its Regional Civil Security Unit received the revocation order through email on Tuesday and served the order the following day at the address registered under dela Rosa’s license.

The office said lawyer Vicente Adrian Pajaro, dela Rosa’s legal representative, officially received the order.

“[Pajaro] manifested that he would discuss the matter with his client and further coordinate with RCSU 11 regarding the revocation order,” PRO 11 said.

The Philippine National Police Firearms and Explosives Office earlier revoked dela Rosa’s type 5 license to own and possess firearms and canceled the registration of 117 firearms under his name.

A type 5 license allows a holder to own 15 or more firearms.

The revocation order also directed RCSU 11 to facilitate the “immediate confiscation or deposit” of the registered firearms for turnover to the Firearms and Explosives Office.

The PNP and PRO 11 did not say whether dela Rosa or his representatives had complied with the directive to surrender the firearms.

PRO 11 said authorities implemented and served the order “in accordance with the rule of law, established procedures, and with the highest degree of professionalism.”
