The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) announced on Monday, November 10, that the Philippines has P2.2 billion remaining in its calamity fund for disaster recovery efforts in 2025, including resources allocated for Typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung-wong).

The OCD coordinates national disaster risk reduction and management efforts and works with local government units and other stakeholders to ensure efficient use of calamity funds. Authorities remain vigilant, preparing for possible emergencies and ensuring resources are readily available.

The remaining fund will support rehabilitation and recovery in areas impacted from Typhoon Uwan and other disasters, providing assistance to affected communities.

The OCD also collaborates with national and international agencies to enhance resilience and ensure communities can recover quickly from calamities.

The agency reiterated its commitment to using the remaining funds to address immediate needs and help disaster-stricken populations rebuild their lives.
