The Philippine Consulate General marked 2026 National Women’s Month by giving purple flowers to its women consular clients, celebrating their contributions and leadership.

This year’s sub-theme, “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”, highlights women’s leadership as a core part of Filipino identity. Drawing inspiration from the Babaylans, spiritual leaders of pre-colonial Philippines, the celebration recognizes the continuing influence of Filipino women in shaping society through their contributions to governance, peacebuilding, and community development.

The 2026 celebration underscores that women’s full participation is essential for sustainable progress. It also emphasizes values-driven, community-centered leadership that promotes gender equality and fosters collaborative growth both locally and across the ASEAN region.

The Consulate expressed gratitude to all who joined the celebrations and wished everyone a Happy Women’s Month!
