President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced on Saturday, September 20, that the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) will regain P60 billion in excess funds.

These funds were previously transferred to the national treasury. The reallocation of funds is facilitated by savings from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The decision aims to bolster PhilHealth’s financial resources. The reinstatement of the funds is expected to address funding needs within the health insurance sector.

President Marcos made this announcement during an official statement. The move aligns with government efforts to enhance public healthcare services. The recovery of funds is considered significant for PhilHealth’s operations.
