The Philippines has exported its first batch of frozen durian to China, valued at 8.2 million Philippine pesos.
Maylong Enterprises Corp., based in Davao City, was responsible for the shipment, which included 1,050 boxes of frozen durian meat and 300 boxes of durian paste.
The shipment went to Nansha District in China, a known trade area. This export is part of the country’s effort to increase agricultural exports.
Durian is popular in several Asian countries, including China, providing a market for Philippine producers.
Maylong Enterprises Corp. has invested in facilities and technology to meet international standards.
The Department of Agriculture has supported the export and aims to help other local producers expand internationally.
This export of durian to China contributes to strengthening trade ties between the Philippines and China. With China being a major importer of agricultural products, this move positions the Philippines to expand its market presence.
