MANILA, Philippines– Stephen Holt is set to take on a larger role with Barangay Ginebra as the team opens its Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) season without Jamie Malonzo.

Malonzo has joined Japan’s Kyoto Hannaryz in the B.League, leaving a key spot in Ginebra’s lineup.

Holt, now in his third PBA season and second with Ginebra, is expected to step up and help lead the team’s campaign. The coaching staff is making tactical adjustments to strengthen the roster and address Malonzo’s absence.

Ginebra aims to reclaim the championship after falling short in the finals last year. Team officials expressed confidence in Holt’s ability to fill the gap and maintain strong performance on both ends of the court.

Holt’s experience and steady play are seen as vital to Ginebra’s success this season. The team continues its preparations, focusing on building chemistry and maintaining competitiveness as the new PBA season begins.
