Erick Arejola has joined the Magnolia management team as a consultant amid the pending sale of NorthPort’s PBA franchise to Pureblends Corporation. Arejola was seen at the Hotshots table during Sunday’s PBA Rookie Draft and confirmed his advisory role when approached.

He is not the only NorthPort executive on the move. Waiyip Chong, formerly NorthPort’s assistant team manager, has reportedly been named team manager of Terrafirma, while ex-NorthPort coach and last season’s team manager Pido Jarencio is also said to be headed to Terrafirma.

Meanwhile, Coach Bonnie Tan remains active with NorthPort, participating in the draft selections. Sources suggest Tan, a friend of Pureblends owner Bryann Calantoc, could continue as coach or serve as team governor if the franchise sale proceeds. A Pureblends representative was also spotted at the draft.

The PBA has formed a review committee to assess the pending sale. Commissioner Willie Marcial said the panel includes league legal counsel Ogie Narvasa, Meralco team governor Bill Pamintuan, and Phoenix counterpart Raymond Zorrilla.
