Actor Paulo Avelino publicly confronted individuals he said had been taking photos and videos outside his home, raising concerns among fans about privacy and safety.
Avelino shared a photo on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Feb. 12, showing two masked individuals partially obscured by the hood of a police vehicle.
“Since ilang araw niyo rin naman na kinukunan ng picture and video yung labas ng bahay namin, okay lang naman din siguro na i-post yung picture niyo para patas lang,” he captioned the post.
(“Since you’ve been taking pictures and videos outside our house for a few days, maybe it’s okay to post your picture just to be fair.”)
The identities of the individuals were not immediately disclosed, and it was unclear whether they were fans.
In the comments section, social media users expressed concern for the actor’s safety and condemned what they described as a breach of privacy. Some urged fellow supporters to respect personal boundaries.
“Let’s give them privacy; they deserve personal space and respect. We need to set boundaries as fans. They bring happiness to us, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay to go to their homes or take private photos. Real fans would never invade their privacy. Please be careful, our dear Pau,” one user wrote.
Others drew parallels to Avelino’s award-winning film “Fangirl,” which centers on an obsessed teenage fan who spends a night at her idol’s home.
Avelino recently portrayed Vincent Cabrera in the mystery series “The Alibi” opposite Kim Chiu. Last year, he signed a contract with ABS-CBN’s Star Magic and is expected to lead an upcoming series that has yet to be announced.
