MANILA, Philippines– The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) recently rescued 34 Indonesian nationals from an alleged illegal detention site in Pasay City, associated with a Chinese-operated Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO).

The operation took place at the Kanlaon Tower, a condominium located on Roxas Boulevard.

The intervention was prompted by a tip from an Indonesian national, who reported being held against their will at the building.

In response, the PAOCC, in coordination with various law enforcement agencies, conducted a raid to free the detained individuals and gather evidence of unlawful activities.

Following the raid, the rescued Indonesians were transferred to a secure location, where they are being interviewed to gather further information about the operation and its links to criminal activities.

Authorities are also working closely with the Indonesian Embassy, which is expected to provide assistance to the affected nationals.

This rescue operation underscores the importance of international cooperation in combatting organized crime and protecting vulnerable workers.

The PAOCC remains committed to improving oversight within the POGO industry and ensuring compliance with labor laws and human rights protections.

The investigation into the Kanlaon Tower incident continues as authorities work to identify those responsible for the illegal detentions. Further updates will be provided as the legal proceedings unfold.
