MANILA, Philippines– The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) approved the release of ₱716.15 million to boost disaster response funds in the Philippines.

DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman announced the approval on Thursday and said the funds will replenish the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) resources for disaster operations.

Pangandaman explained that the funding strengthens the country’s ability to respond to natural calamities and emergencies.

The DSWD will use the funds to purchase relief goods, enhance response operations, and support communities affected through recent disasters.

The DSWD will manage fund allocation and ensure transparency in implementation.
