MANILA, Philippines — The Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) announced on Monday, August 18, that more than 100 Filipino trafficking victims were repatriated from various Southeast Asian countries through government-coordinated efforts.

The victims returned to the Philippines between July 31 and August 9 on multiple flights. IACAT officials said the repatriation involved cooperation with both local and international agencies to ensure the safe return of the victims, who had been subjected to human trafficking abroad.

Authorities described the repatriation as one of the largest in recent years. The victims are now receiving government-provided support services, including counseling, reintegration programs, and rehabilitation assistance.

IACAT stated that investigations are underway to identify and prosecute those responsible for trafficking the individuals. The council confirmed ongoing coordination with law enforcement agencies to pursue legal action against traffickers.

Officials reiterated the government’s commitment to combating human trafficking and assisting affected citizens. IACAT also emphasized the importance of public vigilance and encouraged citizens to report any suspected trafficking activities.
