Over 1.3 Million Lose Power as Beryl Moves Through SE Texas

SOUTHEASTERN TEXAS – More than 1.3 million residents are without power as Hurricane Beryl continues to wreak havoc across southeastern Texas. One of the major concerns for those affected by the power outages is the ongoing government shutdown, which has left many federal agencies unable to provide assistance. As Beryl moves through the region, residents face a double whammy – dealing with the aftermath of the storm while also navigating the uncertainty of the shutdown.

This situation has led to frustration and anxiety among those struggling to access basic services. Lawmakers remain at an impasse over funding for key government agencies, resulting in the suspension or severe curtailment of many necessary services. This has significant implications for disaster relief efforts and other critical services desperately needed in the wake of the storm. As the situation continues to unfold, residents are holding their breath, hoping for a swift resolution to the shutdown.
