Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian formally ended his diplomatic mission to the Philippines after a farewell meeting with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at Malacañang Palace.

His tenure included both cooperation and tensions, notably controversies involving the Philippine military and statements about Filipino workers in Taiwan.

President Marcos acknowledged Huang’s service and diplomatic efforts during the meeting, which marked the conclusion of a complex period in China–Philippines relations.

Huang now returns to China, ending a posting that drew both collaboration and criticism on key regional issues.
