So what traits my next Consul General look like? They would be proactive in creating projects that foster entrepreneurship, connectivity, and community engagement, while remaining uninfluenced by special interest groups or individuals. I envision a leader who is committed to attending events, engaging with various Filipino organizations, and building meaningful relationships with city officials and other consulates in Houston. Someone who honors their RSVP commitments, follows through on promises, and prioritizes the welfare of our people above personal interests. They would embody a grassroots approach, genuinely understanding the struggles and aspirations of Filams, OFWs, and Filipino immigrants.
