6 injured—including teens—after shooting kills 1 in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — A shooting in Indianapolis left one person dead and six others injured, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:27 a.m. as Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were responding to disturbances in the area. Deputy Police Operations Chief Tanya Terry provided details during a news conference later that day.

Emergency responders provided medical assistance at the scene. The injured individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment. One person was pronounced dead.

As of now, no arrests have been made. Police have launched an investigation and are working to identify suspects. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the IMPD.

The incident took place just days after Independence Day celebrations, prompting heightened concern within the community.
